FENSA has achieved accreditation by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service ) as a ‘Certification Body’ to BS EN 45011: 1998. This means that FENSA has an approved system in place to provide impartial assessments of its registered businesses for compliance with the revised Competent Persons Scheme requirements.
Note: FENSA will control its Registered Businesses’ certification through the FENSA database. Transition between current registration status to certification status will take up to 18 months following which all of FENSA’s Registration Businesses will be deemed as certified.
UKAS accreditation is a DCLG requirement for Competent Persons Schemes and will also enable FENSA to assist installation companies with benefiting from becoming accredited as a Green Deal installer under the Government’s Green Deal scheme.
